First things first...What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is an online styling service and fashion retailer. You pay just $20 for a styling fee that can later be applied to the purchase of your clothes. You are assigned your own personal stylist who will hand pick items just for you according to the answers of a questionnaire and notes from you. About 3 weeks later, you will receive your Stitch Fix box which will include instructions, a note from your stylist, and a postage paid envelope to return any unwanted items.
I did quite a bit of Stitch Fix research both before and after receiving my first Fix and I've come up with the three best ways to help your stylist pick amazing items that you'll love.
Tip #1. Fill out your Style Profile honestly and utilize the Notes section.
Once you have signed up for Stitch Fix, you will be asked to fill out a Style profile. Be honest about what you like and don't be too daring. Your stylist will likely send you some items that might push your comfort zones a bit, but that is all part of the fun! You can always send back what you don't want. However, the more your stylists understands your likes and dislikes and your lifestyle, the more likely they will hit a home run with your box.
41Hawthorn Colibri Solid Tab Sleeve Blouse $48
Liverpool Paola Skinny Jean $88
She sent me the 41Hawthorn blouse and Liverpool Skinny Jean and they are perfect! I love the color and the fit of this top. And it's a great length! These jeans are seriously like butter. So soft and comfortable. The price tag is higher than I have ever spent on jeans, but I know I am going to get so much use out of them. I prefer a dark jean, but because of that I actually don't have any this color in my closet. For all of these reasons, these are definitely keepers!
Tip #2. Create a Pinterest board of clothing you like.
If you're not sure where to start, just search 'Stitch Fix' on Pinterest and you will find tons of images and links to repin. Be sure to edit the caption of your pin to tell your stylist exactly what you like and don't like about each item you pin. Then post the link to your Pinterest board on your Style Profile. If you need examples, feel free to check out my Pinterest board.
Market & Spruce Bernadette Lace Overlay Raglan Top $58
I had pinned several Raglan style tops. They definitely fit my more casual dress style. This particular top has a sheer lace front that adds just the right amount of girliness for me. It's as easy as a tee to throw on when I running errands, but I think will have me looking a little more put together.
Tip #3. Blog about your Stitch Fix and send a link to your Stylist.
Receiving my first Stitch Fix box was so much fun, but I didn't feel like my style was represented very well in the items I received. I wanted to be sure to document with pictures each of the pieces and explain what I liked and didn't like about them. I posted a direct link to my blog post in the Note to my stylist asking her to please read the post. I also pinned my own blog post to my Pinterest board. I feel like it surely helps the stylist to actually know what I look like, so pinning and posting pics of yourself is key as well.
Papermoon Ashtin Scoop Neck Blouse $44
I received a Papermoon tank in my last Stitch Fix box as well but the style just wasn't right for me. It was plain with a scallop edge that left be feeling a little blah and quite frankly...old. I ADORE the colors of this blouse. Again, it's so comfortable and perfect for the humid weather we've been experiencing this summer. I prefer a Vneck or scoop neck that is a little lower, but I actually like the higher neck on this top.
Romolo Rita Teardrop Bib Necklace $38
I also received a necklace in my last Stitch Fix box that I liked but wound up sending back after I confessed I just wasn't sure I had anything to wear it with. Well my stylist certainly made it easy it on me this time, because this adorable necklace matches my 41Hawthorne blouse so perfectly there's no way I can send it back!
I'm sure glad that Stitch Fix offers 25% off when you purchase all five items sent, because this box was definitely perfect for me. If you are interested in signing up to receive your perfect Stitch Fix box, please consider signing up using my referral link. I'll get a referral credit when your first box is sent and would absolutely appreciate it!
